What is Walk, Talk and Support all about?

Walking Therapy is simply that, we walk and talk without the constraints of being inside. Some people are more comfortable walking and talking and find it easier to start discussing their problems when strolling along a country path.

The footpaths are easy to walk and start 2 minutes from my front door. So, in other words, you do not have to be super fit and I can accommodate any level of fitness or pace although 2 or 4 miles in the norm or a couple of hours so everyone gets the time and attention they deserve.

I do groups booking events however one to one bespoke walks are also availiable

Imagine for a moment being surrounded by nature, walking at a leisurely pace in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside and getting one to one coaching? With walking therapy will be literally moving forward into a new way of thinking and feeling while all the time having the reassurance of a professional therapist and supporting group of like minded people there for the same reason as you. This is not about judging; it’s about supporting each other.

Walk, Talk and Support is perfect for people who may feel too anxious, overwhelmed and ‘under the spotlight’ inside a therapy room, sitting directly in front of a therapist for a prolonged period. Walking side by side tends to feel less confrontational and more supportive.

The Walk, Talk and Support group is a progressive way to help you to start thinking about that old problem in a different way by moving you from a stuck state to a free thinking and feeling state.

Walk, Talk and Support combines my 10 years of clinical expertise and physical exercise of walking that takes place in natural outdoor settings to bring about more profound results and allows you to work with me to improve your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

The ‘process of walking’ also helps to reduce anxiety, work stress, diabetes, dementia, anger, blood pressure, and depression.Walking is simple and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier. Physical activity has a huge potential to enhance our wellbeing. Even a short burst of 10 minutes’ brisk walking increases our mental alertness, energy and positive mood.

Participation in regular physical activity can increase our self-esteemand can reduce stress and anxiety. It also plays a role in preventing the development of mental health problems and in improving the quality of life of people experiencing mental health problems.
